Sol de Janeiro

Contract Assistant Art Director and Graphic Designer (New York City, New York)
In my capacity as an Assistant Art Director, I was entrusted with capturing the essence of the brand by crafting top-notch Sephora investor pitch decks, moodboards, and storyboards, while also conceptualizing innovative campaign ideas to introduce new products. In addition to these key duties, I took on the vital task of devising internal naming conventions and an efficient organization system to store the brand's vast digital assets.

Furthermore, I demonstrated my creative acumen by designing exquisite print package inserts for high-profile business initiatives, such as the renowned Chelsea Film Festival and eCommerce purchases for valued customers.

Ecommerce Package Sticker Packs—Inspired by Sol's signature travel-inspired aesthetic, I created a bespoke sticker sheet that was in line with the brand's overall visual identity. It featured a variety of eye-catching designs and graphics that were carefully curated to capture the essence of the brand's essence. It's worth noting that the Copacabana illustration, which was incorporated into the sticker sheet, was designed by one of Sol's talented in-house designers.

Ecommerce Package Insert—I created a package insert that included an incentive to rave/review products on social for a free gift with a future purchase.

Sol’s Instagram is the most popular among all social channels and I was inspired to create a “mock” Instagram post that plays with the idea of social sharing and “♡” a product.

Swag Bag Package Insert—Sol de Janeiro was a sponsor for the Chelsea Film Festival. I designed the package insert that was included in the product swag bags.

Sephora Pitch Deck

As the designer entrusted with the responsibility of creating a Sephora pitch deck. The objective was to capture the attention of Sephora and secure a deal that would allow our brand to penetrate a new market. To achieve this, I meticulously crafted an engaging and informative presentation that would effectively introduce Sol de Janeiro to Sephora.

One of the major challenges I faced was organizing the content in a manner that would be easily digestible for the Sephora team. This involved creating a visually appealing layout that incorporated Sol de Janeiro's brand identity while maintaining a professional aesthetic.

To achieve this, I carefully curated on-brand graphics and captivating photography that would capture the essence of the Sol de Janeiro brand. I also made sure to reduce large chunks of text into shorter, more impactful bullet points that would be easily comprehensible.

In addition, I collaborated with other members of the Sol de Janeiro team to create mock-ups of future products that would resonate with the Sephora customer. The imagery and designs were carefully selected to align with the brand's aesthetic while showcasing the potential of our products to succeed in the Sephora market.

Overall, my goal was to create a cohesive, visually appealing and informative presentation that would showcase Sol de Janeiro's unique brand identity and entice Sephora to invest in our products.

Product photoshoot pitch deck

As a part of the preparations for the highly anticipated launch of a new product, I meticulously curated a moodboard pitch deck that encapsulated the desired aesthetic. Through extensive research and selection of editorial photography, I presented three distinct and captivating photoshoot concepts. Collaboratively, we deliberated on the merits of each concept and ultimately determined the most fitting one to pursue.

Brand rep program pitch deck

I was assigned the responsibility of designing an internal pitch deck for a rep program that aimed to foster a community around the brand. The focus was on creating a visually appealing representation of the program, highlighting the values that the brand represents, and identifying the ways in which the brand community would practice those values. Additionally, I worked on identifying the type of content we would like to see generated from the program's influencers. As a parallel project, I developed logo concepts for potential brand rep apparel.
